Sierra Mires grew up as a proud military brat, calling multiple states home and learning to adapt with each move. From a young age, she watched barrel racers fly around the arena and dreamed of becoming a cowgirl herself.
Her love for horses began at 14 when she got her first horse, Chief—a Morgan Palomino who quickly became her heart horse. Together, as a green rider and green horse, they learned the ropes side by side, eventually competing in gymkhana, cow sorting, and drill teams. A horse girl through and through, Sierra has driven stagecoaches with teams of Percherons and guided countless trail rides, sharing her passion for horses with others along the way.
Sierra met her husband, John, in high school, and together they’ve built a life over the past seven years. They’ve traveled across the U.S. for his work as a journeyman lineman, with their two dogs, Gunner and Moose, turning each stop into a new adventure.
With a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science under her belt, Sierra is now preparing to begin nursing school. When she’s not in the saddle, you’ll find her lost in a book, jamming to music, or exploring new foods alongside her husband.
